MR. JOHN ROBERTS, 3 BRYN NENAN.

The death occurred last Thursday (January 18) after a short illness of Mr John Roberts. Aged 83, at 3 Bryn Nenan, the home of his niece, Mrs Dora Roberts.

He was a native of Garndolbenmaen, and spent the most part of his life farming at Cae Sion Hywel, Llannor, from where he retired three years ago.

He was held in high esteem by his neighbourhood and represented what was best in the traditional Welsh agricultural community. He had always been a staunch and generous supporter of the Baptist cause at Garndolbenmaen, and up to the end it was his custom to attend the chapel of his childhood on every possible occasion.

The funeral took place last Saturday, a private service was held at 3 Bryn Nenan, followed by internment at Tai Duon cemetery. Both services were conducted by the Rev. Owen Lloyd, Brynrodyn, assisted by the Rev. Idwal Wynne Jones, Portmadoc.

The mourners were : Miss Appolonia Roberts, Nantlle (sister); Mrs Sarah Roberts, Bwlchderwin (sister-in-law), both were unavoidably absent; Mr and Mrs John Roberts, 3 Bryn Nenan; Mr and Mrs Robert O. Roberts, Wrexham; Mr and Mrs Hugh M. Roberts, Llanllyfni; Mr William G. Jones, Nantlle; Mr Hugh M. G. Jones, Nantlle; Mr Hugh E. Roberts, Llanllyfni; Mr William Jones, Nantlle; Miss Mai Roberts, Bwlchderwin; Mr Meirion W. Roberts and Mr Robert Roberts, Wrexham; Mr Robert Davies, Bryncir (nieces and nephews); Mr William Jones, Llannor, and Mr Dafydd Evans, Abererch (relatives).

Others present were : Mr Robert Davies, Mr Hugh Davies, Mr Griffith Thomas, Mr Robert Williams, all from Llannor; Mr Aerwyn Jones, Pistyll; Mr Evan Jones, Mr John Williams and Mr Alwyn Jones (representing Garndolbenmaen Baptist Church).

The bearers at the house were Messrs Robert Davies, Dafydd Evans, Hugh Ellis Jones and Robert Williams; and at Tai Duon cemetery Messrs Robert Davies, Hugh M. Roberts, Meirion W. Roberts and Robert Roberts.

Assisting at the house was : Mrs J. Williams Cil Llidiart.

The undertakers were Messrs Richard Williams and Hugh Jones Jones, Clynnog.
