Owen Owens, Traean, Llannor, Gentleman : Will 1813.
This is the last Will and Testament of me Owen Owens of Traean in the Parish of Llannor in the County of Carnarvon, Gentleman.First I give and bequeath unto my cousin John Williams of Tremadoc in the said County, Saddler the sum of thirty pounds.
Also I give and beaueath unto my cousin Robert Cadwalader of Pwllheli in the said County, Glover the sum of five pounds.
Also I give and bequeath unto Robert, Lewis, Mary, Ellin and Grace the children of the said Robert Cadwalader the sum of six pounds apiece.
Also I give and bequeath unto William Griffith of Cefncoch Pen Porth Neigwl in the said County, Yeoman the sum of six pounds.
Also I give and bequeath unto his sister Lowry Griffith of Sarn y Penmaen in the said County, Widow the sum of six pounds.
Also I give and bequeath unto Anne the wife of Robert Roberts of Traean in the Parish of Llannor in the said County, Farmer the sum of twenty pounds.
The said several and respective legacies to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named unto them severally and respectively immediately after the expiration of twelve calendar months after my decease.
Also I give and bequeath unto Robert Williams, son of my late cousin William Roberts of Brynbychan in the Parish of Llannor aforesaid, Yeoman, deceased the sum of five pounds.
Also I give and bequeath unto William Williams, son of the said William Roberts, deceased the sum of ten pounds.
Also I give and bequeath unto John and Owen Williams, sons of the said William Roberts, deceased the sum of fifteen pounds apiece.
And I do desire that the said several sums of five pounds, ten pounds, fifteen pounds and fifteen pounds shall within one month after my decease be placed out at Interst upon some good security at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and that the said several sums of five pounds, ten pounds, fifteen pounds and fifteen pounds with the Interest or Interst due thereon shall be paid to the said Robert, William, John and Owen Williams the said children of my said late cousin William Roberts deceased respectively when and as they shall severally and respectively attain their several and respective ages of twenty one years or day or days of marriage which shall first happen and that the interest accruing and arising there from in the meantime shall br applied towards their education and maintenance respectively until they shall severally and respectively attain their said ages or day or days of marriage as aforesaid.
Also I give and bequeath unto Ellis Roberts of Gwnnis in the said County, Gentleman, his Executors Administrators and Assigns the sum of three hundred pounds, to be paid to him by my Executor hereinafter named immediately after the expiration of three calendar months after my decease. In trust and to and for the uses intents and purposes hereinafter declared of and concerning the same, that is to say, upon trust that the said Ellis Roberts, his Executors Administrators or Assigns do and shall pay the interest of the said sum of three hundred pounds yearly and every year unto my Nephew the said Robert Roberts of Traean for and during the term of his natural life and from and immediately after his decease to pay the said sum of three hundred pounds and the interest then due thereon unto and among the child or children of the said Robert Roberts by the said Anne his present wife begotten or to be begotten, share and share alike.
Also I give and bequeath unto the said Robert Roberts one chest and all it contains and one bedstead and iron rod which are now at Dolypenrhyn and all the furniture which belongs to me at Traean for ever.
And as to to all the rest residue and remainder of my estate whatsoever and where soever and of what nature kind and quality soever the same may be and not hereinafter before given and disposed of after payment of my debts legacies funeral expenses and the expense of proving this my Will I do hereby give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my Nephew Thomas Griffith of the Parish of Llanfihangel Bachellaeth in the said County, Yeoman for ever to and for his own use and benefit absolutely. I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my said Nephew the said Thomas Griffith Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at anytime heretofore made. In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set and subscribed my hand and seal this tenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve (1812).
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Owen Owens as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

Whereas I Owen Owens of Traean in the Parish of Llannor in the County of Carnarvon, Gentleman have made and duly executed my last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the tenth day of September now last past. Now I do hereby declare the present writing to be a Codicil to my said Will and I do direct the same to be taken as part thereof. And whereas I did in and by my said Will give and bequeath unto Anne the wife of Robert Roberts of Traean aforesaid, Yeoman the sum of twenty pounds now I do hereby revoke the said legacy and I do hereby give and bequeath the same in manner and form following, that is to say, ten pounds, one half thereof unto John Evans of Pwllheli in the said County, Clockmaker and ten pounds the remaining half unto Robert and Lewis sons of Robert Cadwalader of Pwllheli aforesaid Glover, share and share alike in addition to what I have given and bequeathed to them the said Robert and Lewis in and by my said Will.
I do hereby ratify and confirm my said Will in all the other particulars thereof. In witness whereof I the said Owen Owens have to this Codicil set my hand and seal the second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve (1812).

On the 14th day of December in the year of our Lord 1812 personally appeared Thomas Griffith, and proved the within written Will and it was insinuated approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the said Executor, Thomas Griffith, he being first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the Goods and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £1500.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the Goods Chattels Wares and Merchandise as well moveable as not moveable of Owen Owens late of Traean in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, Gentleman, deceased made by us whose names are hereunto subscribed the 14th day of December 1812.
