John Prichard, Ty Newydd, Llannor : Will 1796.
In the name of God Amen.I John Prichard of Tynewydd in the County of Carnarvon, Esquire, being of sound mind memory and understanding (blessed be God for the same) do make ordain publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say.
First of all I give and bequeath unto Margaret Griffith, spinster, my head servant maid at Tynewydd aforesaid the full and just sum of one hundred pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain, together with my watch, chain and seals which I usually wear in case she shall happen to be in my service at the time of my decease, but not otherwise.
And my Will is and I do hereby order and direct that in case my Executor hereinafter named shall happen to be abroad or in England at the time of my decease, then and in such case that she the said Margaret Griffith shall manage look after and take care of all the effects at Tynewydd aforesaid and of all the Goods and Chattels upon the lands which shall be in my holding at the time of my decease, to the best advantage to and for the sole use and benefit of my said Executor absolutely during his absence or until he shall appoint somebody else in her stead to take care of the same.
And I do hereby will order and direct that she the said Margaret Griffith shall in his absence or until he shall appoint somebody else in her stead receive of all the tenants belonging to the Tynewydd Estate the yearly rents of their respective and several farms and when called upon by my said Executor to remit to him the said rents and profits.
And I the said Testator John Prichard do hereby according to the Power and Authority in and by the last Will and Testament of Richard Lloyd late of Tynewydd aforesaid Esquire deceased to me thereby given and reserved and of all Powers and Authorities enabling me thereto, limit, directly and appoint, give and bequeath unto my dear and beloved son Evan Prichard of Tynewydd aforesaid Gentleman his Executors Administrators and Assigns. All that capital and other the messuages dwelling house tenements lands hereditaments and premises with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances (which I hereby call and describe by the name of “All the Tynewydd Estate”) situate lying and being in the several Parishes of Llannor, Denio, Llanllyfni, Clynnog, Llanebelig and in the Town of Carnarvon in the said County. To hold have occupy possess and enjoy the said premises and every of them with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances unto my said son Evan Prichard his Executors Administrators and Assigns from and immediately after my decease and during and unto the full end and term of twenty one years from thence next ensuring and fully to be complete and ended according to the said Power and Authority to me given and in me rested in and by the said Will of the said Richard Lloyd and according to the purport hue intent and meaning of this my last Will and Testament.
And as for touching and concerning all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels ready money debts securities for money plate household goods and all other my personal estate whatsoever and where soever and of what nature kind or quality soever the same shall happen to be or to consist of at the time of my decease (after payment of my just debts funeral expenses and legacy aforesaid) I give and bequeath the same and every past and parcel thereof unto my said son Evan Prichard his Executors Administrators and Assigns, to and for his and their own use and benefit absolutely.
And I do hereby nominate constitute ordain and appoint him my said son Evan Prichard Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I the said Testator John Prichard have to this my last Will and Testament (contained on two sides of one half of this sheet of paper) set my hand and seal the twenty third day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two.
The writing contained on the two sides of one half of this sheet of paper was signed and sealed by the within named Testator John Prichard and by him published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other.

On the 27th day of June in the year of our Lord 1796 the above written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the within named Executor Evan Prichard, he being first personally sworn on the Holy Evangelists (having alledged that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the Testator John Prichard do not amount in value to the sum of three hundred pounds) as the Law directs.
