Thomas Griffith, Ynyswen Llangybi, Farmer : Will 1848.

In the name of God Amen.
I Thomas Griffith of Ynyswen in the Parish of Llangybi, in the County of Carnarvon, Farmer, being sick and weak in body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding, praised be Almighty God for the same, do this twenty seven day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven (1847) make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in form and manner following viz.

First I give and bequeath unto my son Humphrey Thomas of Hengwm the few money he owes me.

Also I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Elizabeth Humphreys of Hengwm the sum of five pounds.

Also I give and bequeath unto my grandson Thomas Humphrey of Hengwm the sum of five pounds.

Also I give and bequeath unto my grandson Robert Griffith of Bwlchgwyn the sum of five pounds.

The said Legacies not to be paid unto my grandsons and grand daughter until they attain twenty one years of age.

Also I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Thomas the farm called and known by the name of Tynymynydd in the Parish of Clynnog in the County of Carnarvon during her lifetime and I give her power after her death to dispose of as she may like.

As to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate effects and credits of what nature kind and quality soever the same may be or consist at the time of my decease, I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof equally between my said beloved wife Elizabeth Thomas and my son Richard Thomas.

Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said beloved wife Elizabeth Thomas and my said son Richard Thomas Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void every other Will or Wills heretofore by me declaring. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

Signed sealed published and declared by the Testator Thomas Griffith as and for my last Will and Testament in the presence of ue, who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.

On the twenty eighth of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of law decreed valid and Administration granted to the within named Elizabeth Thomas and Richard Thomas, Joint Executors, they being first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the Goods Chattels Effects and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds.

The Testator died on the 20th day of December 1847.
Probate granted 28th June 1848.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the Household Goods, Furniture, Chattels, Effects and Credits of the late Thomas Griffiths of Ynyswen, deceased, made by us (Gratis) whose names are hereunder subscribed the 5th day of June 1848.
