Owen Griffith, Glasfryn Fawr, Yeoman : Will 1797.

In the name of God Amen.
I Owen Griffith of Glasfryn Fawr in the Parish of Llangybi in the County of Carnarvon, Yeoman, being of perfect mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say).

First. I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter in law Gwen Thomas wife to John Hughes the sum of five shillings of lawful money of Great Britain.

Also I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Jane Owen the sum of five shillings of lawful money of Great Britain.

Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Marsly Owen the sum of five shillings of lawful money of Great Britain.

Also I Will that all my debts and funeral expenses are paid and discharged by my Executors here after named. Lastly I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels Furniture Ready Money and Personal Estate whatsoever which I shall be possessed in ordinary ways entitled unto at the time of my decease between my dearly beloved wife Marsly Griffith and my four children, Griffith Owen, Robert Owen, William Owen and Richard Owen, share and share alike and I do hereby nominate and appoint them, my said wife Marsly Griffith and my four children Griffith Owen, Robert Owen, William Owen and Richard Owen to be Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last.

In witness whereof I the said Owen Griffith have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three.

On the 23rd day of November in the year of our Lord 1797, the above or within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to Margery Griffith and Griffith Owen two of the Executors named in the said Will, they being first personally sworn on the Holy Evangelists (having at the same time alledged that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the Testator Owen Griffith doth not amount in value to the sum of Three Hundred Pounds) as the Law directs with power reserved for Robert Owen, William Owen and Richard Owen the other Executors named in the said Will, to apply for the same when they shall be lawfully entitled thereof.
