John Jones, Trefgraig, Llangwnadl, Gent : Will 1827.
In the name of God Amen.I John Jones of Trefgraig in the Parish of Llangwnadle in the County of Carnarvon, Gentleman, do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say.
First I do hereby charge and make liable all these my messuages, tenements, lands, hereditaments and premises commonly called and known by the several names of Brynengan and Chwilog Fawr, situate and being in the several Parishes of Llangybi and Llanystumdwy in the County of Carnarvon with the payment of all such bond debts as I shall owe at the time of my decease and subject thereto.
I give and devise the same messuages, tenements, lands and premises called Brynengan and Chwilog together with the Land Tax charged thereon unto Ellis Thomas of Trefgraig in the said County, Gentleman and Robert Griffith of Pwllheli in the said County, Gentleman and the survivor of them and the Heirs of such survivor upon special Trust and Confidence, that is to say. In Trust that they the said Ellis Thomas and Robert Griffith and the survivor of them and the Heirs of such survivor do and shall from and after my decease receive and take the rents J Jones and profits of the said premises called Brynengan and Chwilog and pay and apply the same to the Order and Direction of my daughter Lowry the wife of Griffith Evans of Ysgo and her Assigns for and during the term of her natural life and her receipt or receipts for the same shall be sufficient discharge or discharges to the said Trustees for the same and that the said yearly rents so received by the said Trustees for her sole and separate use shall not be under the control or management of the said Griffith Evans or any after taken husband or be liable to either of their debts and in case the said Griffith Evans shall happen to survive the said Lowry, then and in such case, I do hereby charge and make liable all and singular my said messuages, tenements and premises with the payment of one annuity or yearly rent charge of ten pounds a year to be paid and payable to the said Griffith Evans, during the term of his natural life by the person or persons who shall be entitled to the reversion and inheritance of the said premises under the Limitations contained herein and from and after the decease of the said Lowry subject to the said annuity I give and devise all and singular my said messuages, tenements, lands and premises called Brynengan and Chwilog unto Evan the eldest son of the said Griffith Evans by the said Lowry his wife and the heirs of his body lawfully issuing and in default of such J Jones.
I give and devise the same hereditaments and premises unto John the second son of the said Griffith Evans by the said Lowry his wife and the Heirs of his body lawfully issuing and in default of such J Jones.
I give and devise the same hereditaments and premises unto the child or children sons or daughters of the said Griffith Evans on the body of the said Lowry his wife begotten or to be begotten and the heir of the body of such child or children, sons or daughters lawfully issuing the elder of such child or children sons or daughters to take before the younger of such child or children sons or daughters and the Heirs of his or her body or bodies lawfully issuing and should the said Griffith Evans have any sons and daughters by the said Lowry, other than what they now have. Then the sons to take before the Daughters and the Heirs of his or their bodies lawfully begotten and in default of such I give then to my own right heirs forever. I give and devise all that Messuage, Tenement and Premises which I now hold under Richard Edwards of Nanhoron in the said County, Esquire by lease for and during the term of my natural life and the life of my daughter Ann from and after my decease unto my wife Anne for and during the term of her natural life in case my said daughter Ann shall so long live and from and after the decease of my said wife Anne I give and devise the same Tenement and Premises unto my said daughter Anne for and during the term of her natural life.
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ellin the sum of forty pounds.
I also give and bequeath unto my said daughter Lowry the sum of one hundred and seventy pounds.
I also give and bequeath unto the said Ellis Thomas and Robert Griffith and the survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor the sum of one hundred and twenty pounds.
In Trust that the said Ellis Thomas and Robert Griffith or the survivor of them or his Executors or Administrators do and shall with all convenient speed after my decease place out the same upon the best security that can or may be obtained for the same and pay the interest or proceeds arising there from unto my said daughter Anne for and during her natural life and from and after decease.
I give and bequeath the same sum of one hundred and twenty pounds and every part thereunto and amongst the children of the said Anne, share and share alike, but if any of the children of the said Ann shall happen to marry in the lifetime of the said Ann, then my Will and meaning is that it shall and may be lawful for my said Trustees with the consent of my said daughter Ann to raise so much of the said sum of one hundred and twenty pounds as will become the share of all or any of such child so marrying and the receipt of such child so marrying shall be a sufficient discharge to the said Trustees for the same.
And I do hereby charge my Personal Estate and Effects with the payment of the such legacies herein before bequeathed by me and to be paid by my Executrix hereafter named within twelve calendar months next after my decease.
All the rest and residue of my personal estate and effects I give and bequeath unto my said wife Anne after payment of my debts and funeral expenses and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Ann Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I the said John Jones the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty fifth day of September one thousand eight hundred and twenty. Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator John Jones as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto.

On the 11th day of October in the year of our Lord 1827 the aforesaid written Will was insinuated, proved, approved and in common form of Law decreed valid, and Administration granted to the within named Anne Jones Sole Executrix, she being first sworn in common form of Law, and that the whole of the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of £450.
