Catherine Jones, Llangybi Parish, Widow : Will 1731.
In the name of God Amen.I Catherine Jones of the Parish of Llangyby in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, Widow, being sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal life do make this my last Will and Testament as followeth, that is principally and above all things, I commend my soul to God in sure and certain hope of pardon through the merits and interception of my blessed reedemer, and my body to the Earth to be buried after a decent and Christian manner at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, I give bequeath and dispose of the same in the following manner.
Imprimis.
I Will that my debts and funeral expenses be paid and discharged. Item.
I give and bequeath to my Nephew John Hughes the sum of three and twenty pounds.
Item. To my Nephew John Robert the sum of five pounds.
Item. To Catherine John Thomas my three blankets.
All the rest and residue of my personal estate goods cattle and chattels wheresoever as well within as without I give and bequeath to Hugh Griffith of Ysgubor Newydd.
Item. I nominate constitute and appoint the said Hugh Griffith full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourth day of December Anno Domini 1731.
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Catherine Jones to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of us subscribers and witnesses.
