John Griffith, Church Street, Pwllheli, Yeoman : Will 1857.
This is the last Will and Testament of me John Griffith at present residing in Church Street Pwllheli Carnarvonshire, Yeoman.I give devise and bequeath all that my freehold dwelling house garden and premises at Penlôn Pwllheli aforesaid now in the holding of Owen Hughes, Tailor, unto and to the use of my son Evan Griffith, his heirs and assigns for ever.
I give and bequeath to John Ellis, son of my daughter Catherine the sum of ten pounds.
I give and bequeath to David son of my said son Evan Griffith the sum of ten pounds.
As to all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate (after payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and the above pecuniary legacies of ten pounds and ten pounds) I give and bequeath the same unto my daughters Rebecca and Mary, absolutely to be divided between them equally.
I appoint my son Evan Griffith Sole Executor of this my Will and revoke all former Wills and declare this to be my last Will. In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand the eighth day of August in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty three.
Signed by the said John Griffith, the Testator in the presence of us present at the same time who have signed our names as witnesses thereto in his presence and in the presence of each other.

On the eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord 1857, the above Will with one codicil was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the above named Executor Evan Griffith, he being first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £100.

The deceased died on the 12th day of September 1857.
This is the codicil of the Will of John Griffith deceased, deposed to by the Executor therein named the eighteenth day of September 1857.

Whereas I John Griffith of Church Street Pwllheli in the County of Carnarvon, Yeoman, have made and duly executed my Will bearing date the eighth day of August one thousand eight hundred and fifty three. Now I declare this present writing to be a codicil to my said Will and I direct the same to be annexed thereto and taken as part thereof. And whereas I have by my said Will given and bequeathed all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate unto my daughter Rebecca and Mary absolutely to be divided between them equally. Now I revoke the said residuary share so given to my daughter Rebecca and I give and bequeath the whole or the entirety of my said residuary estate to my daughter Mary to her own use absolutely and gratify and confirm my said Will in every respect except where the same is is hereby revoked and altered as aforesaid. In witness whereof I have to this codicil to my last Will and Testament set my hand the first day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three.
