Owen Lewis, Traeth Pwllheli, Mariner : Will 1855.

I Owen Lewis of Pwllheli in the County of Carnarvon, Mariner being in good health and of sound memory and understanding do this tenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say).

I give and bequeath to my dear wife Gwen Lewis all my Goods Chattels Effects and property being if what kind or nature soever and where soever they can be found which I may be possessed of at the time of my decease during her natural life (provided she will remain single and unmarried). But in case my said wife might remarry or contract a second marriage then and immediately after such second marriage had taken place and be solemnized all the said Goods and Effects so devised and bequeathed unto my wife the said Gwen Lewis shall cease to be her property and the said bequest to be null and utterly void and I direct the same to be equally divided between my son Lewis and daughter Gwen and to remain their property absolutely for ever.

And provided my said wife Gwen Lewis shall remain single and unmarried during the remainder of her life and dying in possession of the said Goods and Chattels so bequeathed to her then and immediately after her decease the said Goods and Chattels to be equally divided between my said son Lewis and daughter Gwen.

And I make and ordain her my said wife Sole Executrix of this my Will. In witness whereof I the said Owen Lewis have to this my last Will and Testament set my habd and seal the day and year above written.

Signed sealed and delivered by the said Owen Lewis as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in our presence at the signing and sealing thereof.

On the 10th day of May in the year of our Lord 1855 the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the within named Gwen Lewis, she being first sworn in common form of Law and the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £100.

The deceased died on the 31st day of October 1854.
