Ellis Jones, High Street Southern, Pwllheli, Leather Cutter : Will 1843.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Ellis Jones of High Street in the Town of Pwllheli in the County of Carnarvon, Leather Cutter.

I give and bequeath all and singular my Household Goods and Furniture and Stock in Trade to my wife Mary Jones and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I give and bequeath the same to my son Edward Jones absolutely for ever.

I give and bequeath the annual interest and proceeds of all sum and sums of money belonging to me now out at interest on any specialty or other security or which may be owing to me at my decease to my said wife Mary Jones and her assigns during her natural life and after her decease I give and bequeath the principal of all such sum or sums of money to my said son Edward Jones absolutely for ever.

As to all my Book debts and the residue of my personal estate and effects I direct the same to be collected and got in as soon as conveniently may be after my decease as well as any other sum or sums of money which may appear to my Executrix hereinafter named not to be well and effectually secured and that she my said Executrix shall lay out and invest the same on good landed security or in the public funds upon some good personal security and receive and enjoy the Interest and annual proceeds thereof during her natural life and from and immediately after her decease I give and bequeath the whole so to be got in and laid out as aforesaid and all other my personal estate and effects to my said son Edward Jones absolutely for ever.

I direct that as soon as possible may be after my decease as Inventory be taken of all my Household Goods and Furniture and Stock in Trade and of all sum and sums of money due to me out at interest on any specialty or other security and of all my Book debts for the use and information of my said son Edward Jones.

I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Mary Jones Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twentieth day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty three.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Ellis Jones as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other , have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

On the fifteenth day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty three (1843), the aforesaid written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the within named Mary Jones, Widow and Sole Executrix, she being first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the Goods Chattels Effects and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of one hundred pounds.

The Testator died on the 12th day of June 1843.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the Goods Chattels Effects and Credits of the late Ellis Jones of Pwllheli in the Parish of Denio in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, Shoemaker, deceased made and appraised by us (Gratis) this thirteenth day of December in thr year of our Lord 1843.
