William Evans, Pwllheli, Shopkeeper : Will 1807.
This is the last Will and Testament of me William Evans of Pwllheli in the County of Carnarvon, Shopkeeper.I give and devise all my messuage tenement farm and lands commonly called or known by the name Pwll y March situate lying and being in the Parish of Llanbedr in the County of Merioneth and all other my messuages lands and tenements with their appurtenances situate in the said County of Merioneth or elsewhere unto my dear wife Jane Evans and her assigns foe and during the term of her natural life subject to the Power of Charge hereafter mentioned and from and immediately after her decease then I give and devise the same and every part thereof unto my own right heirs forever.
And my further Will and meaning id that it shall and may be lawful to and for my said dear wife Jane Evans by mortgage or otherwise for the term of five hundred years charge my said messuages tenements lands hereditaments and premises with any sum or sums of money not exceeding in the whole the sum of one hundred pounds to be placed out by her in the Education Apprenticing Portioning and bringing up of all or any of my children or to such other purpose as she shall think fit and proper.
As to all and singular my personal estate of what nature or kind soever the same may be or consist of at the time of my decease I do hereby give devise and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said dear wife Jane Evans provided she shall continue and remain my widow but if she should happen to marry then and in that case I give devise and bequeath unto her the sum of one hundred pounds only and the rest residue and remainder of my said personal estate I give devise and bequeath the same unto and amongst my children which shall be living then, share and share alike.
I do nominate constitute and appoint my said dear wife Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and make void all former Will or Wills made by me and do publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said Testator have unto this my Will contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three.
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator as his last Will and Testament in our presence who at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto in his presence and in the presence of each other.

On the eighteenth day of March in the year of our Lord 1807 the within Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the above or within named Executrix Jane Evans, she being first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £100.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the Goods Credit and Effects of the late William Evans of the Town of Pwllheli in the Parish of Denio and County of Carnarvon, Gent deceased made and appraised by us whose names are hereunto subscribed this eighteenth day of March 1807.
