Joyce Hughes, Pwllheli, Widow : Will 1796.

In the name of God Amen.

I Joyce Hughes of the Town of Pwllheli in the County of Carnarvon, Widow, being sick and weak in body but of a sound and disposing mind memory do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say.

First I give and bequeath to my eldest daughter Catherine the sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain.

I also give and bequeath to my daughter Ellin the sum of twenty pounds of like lawful money.

I also give and bequeath to my grand children David and Thomas Llewelyn the sum of thirty pounds of like lawful money to be equally divided between them, share and share alike.

I also give and bequeath to my grand children John and Joyce, children of my said daughter Ellin the like sum of thirty pounds to be equally divided between them, share and share alike.

I also give and bequeath to my grand children Henry and Evan sons of my late daughter Margaret deceased the sum of forty pounds of like lawful money to be equally divided between them, share and share alike to be paid to all and every my said grand children as they severally attain the age of twenty one years and to survive amongst them in case any of them die before the said age of twenty one years.

And I will and desire that the respective sums herein before by me given and bequeathed to all my said grand children be placed out at Interest by my Executors herein after named as soon as conveniently may be to accumulate to and for his her and their use and benefit.

And as to for and concerning all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattels and Estate whatsoever and where soever or of what nature kind or quality soever the same may consist of at the time of my decease (after payment of my just debts legacies and funeral expenses) I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof to and amongst my dear son Griffith and grand daughter Elizabeth Llewelyn, whom I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I the said Testatrix Joyce Hughes have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of February in the thirty fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third King of Great Britain, France and Ireland and so forth and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testatrix Joyce Hughes to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
