Richard Roberts, Carguwch fawr, Carnguwch, Farmer : Will 1839.
In the name of God Amen.I Richard Roberts of Carngiwch fawr in the Parish of Carngiwch in the County of Carnarvon, Farmer, being sick in body but of sound mind memory and understanding, praised be Almighty God for the same, do this eighth day of May in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven (1837), make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say.
First, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha Roberts of Ty Mawr, Llannor the sum of fifty pounds. Griffith Evans my son in law was owing to me the sum of ten pounds, the said sum of ten pounds I give devise and bequeath in the following manner.
First I give devise and bequeath unto my said son in law Griffith Evans the sum of two pounds and ten shillings.
Also I give devise and bequeath unto my son in law Davydd Evans the sum of two pounds and ten shillings.
Also i give devise and bequeath unto my daughter in law Lowry Evans the sum of two pounds and ten shillings.
Also I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter in law Catherine Evans the sum of two pounds and ten shillings.
As to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects of what nature kind or quality soever the same the same may be or consist of at the time of my decease, I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my beloved wife Martha Griffith and my sons Robert Roberts and Richard Roberts, and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said beloved wife Martha Griffith and my sons Robert Roberts and Richard Roberts, Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void every other Will or Wills heretofore by me made declaring this and this only to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Richard Roberts as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence, at his request, and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.

On the nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine (1839) the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the within named Martha Griffith or Roberts, Robert Roberts and Richard Roberts, Joint Executors, they being first sworn in common form of Law, and that the whole of the Goods, Chattels, Effects and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of four hundred and fifty pounds.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the Goods Chattels Credits and Effects of the late Richard Roberts Carngiwch fawr in the Parish of Carngiwch in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, made by us whose names are hereunto subscribed the 3rd day of June in the year of our Lord 1839.
