Griffith Robert Hughes, Talysarn, Bodfean, Farmer : Will 1785.
In the name of God Amen.I Griffith Roberts of Talysarn in the Parish of Bodvean, Farmer in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, being sick of body but of sound mind memory and understanding do institute and appoint publish and declare this writing or this written Instrument as and for my last Will and Trestament which I make and ordain in form and manner following, viz. Imprimis.
I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Griffith a bed, consisting of of the bedstead and curtain, a chaff bed, three blankets, two sheets, bolster and cover which is in the chamber where I am now ill and confined. I give and bequeath unto the said Robert Griffith my best coat, the old Bible, my second best hat, india handkerchief of value about six shillings.
Secondly I give and bequeath unto my grandson David Griffith the sum of two pounds and two shillings towards buying books for him, for I do expect that his father will give him schooling for some years.
Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Elizabeth Griffith the bed on which I now lie, consisting of bedstead and curtain new feather bed, two sheets, three new blankets, cover, cover lid and one bolster all which to be kept for her till she attains the age of seventeen years. Also I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Griffith aforesaid the sum of two pounds and two shillings towards her schooling.
Fourthly I give and bequeath unto my grandson Richard Griffith the sum of four pounds and four shillings for such use and purpose as his parents shall deem necessary and proper.
Fifthly and lastly with respect to the residue (that is after the payment of the above legacies) of my secular affairs Goods and Chattels (with which it hath pleased Almighty God to bless and comfort me in this ? world) I give and bequeath the same all and singular thereof unto my son Griffith Roberts in consideration of his attention to me and for his sobriety and Christian conduct hitherto in life, hoping, by God's assistance will persevere in that line.
The said Griffith Roberts I constitute nominate and appoint Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of November onr thousand seven hundred and eighty four and in the twenty fifth year of the reign of our Sovereign George the Third King of Great Britain.
Signed sealed published and declared by the within named Testator Griffith Roberts as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto.

On which day the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law deemed valid and Administration granted to the Executor within named, he being first sworn as the Law directs etc.
