Lewis Hughes, Caergo, Abererch, Farmer : Will 1848.

In the name of God Amen.

I Lewis Hughes of Caergo in the Parish of Abereirch County of Carnarvon Diocese of Bangor, Farmer, being of sound mind and memory and understanding, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say).

I give devise and bequeath to Catherine Hughes my present servant maid a bed, bedstead and beddings containing three blankets and two sheets and one quilt.

I give and bequeath to my Niece Cathrine Michael the sum of Five pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to the aforesaid Cathrine Hughes my servant maid the sum of Twenty pounds.

Also I give and bequeath my sister Jane the sum of Three pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my sister Ellen the sum of Ten pounds. Also I give and bequeath to my Niece Margaret daughter of my sister Ailes the sum of Twenty pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my Nephew William Jones the son of my sister Ailes the sum of Fifteen pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my Niece Jonnet daughter of my brother Hugh the sum of Five pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my Niece Cathrine daughter of my said brother Hugh the sum of Five pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to John Jones the son of my sister Ailes the sum of Five pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my Nephew John Lewis son of Lewis Edwards the sum of Ten pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to Cathrine the sister of my late beloved wife deceased the sum of Fifty pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to Mary the daughter of Joseph Elias deceased the sum of Fifty pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to Jane Hughes daughter of Anne Elias the sum of Fifty pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to William Hughes son of the said Anne Elias the sum of Fifty pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to Cathrine the sister of the said William Hughes the sum of Fifty pounds with bed, bedstead and beddings and a press cupboard which is in my out kitchen.

Also I give and bequeath to John Hughes son of the said Anne Elias the sum of Fifty pounds and the clock.

I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew Lewis Hughes Tremadoc all my money securities for money goods chattels estate and effects of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever the same shall be at the time of my death. And I do nominate constitute and appoint the said Lewis Hughes sole executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all and every other Will and Wills at any heretofore by me made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th day of December in the year of our Lord 1846.

Signed sealed declared and published by the above named Lewis Hughes as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

On the eighth day of February in the year of our Lord 1848 the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the within named Executor Lewis Hughes, he being first sworn in common form of Lawm and that the whole of the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £600.
before me St Geo Armstrong Williams Surrogate.

The deceased died the 26th of September 1847.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the Goods Cattle and Effects of the late Lewis Hughes Caergo in the Parish of Abererch in the County of Carnarvon deceased made by us (Gratis) the 2nd day of October 1847
