Hugh Griffith, Llwynrhydol Uchaf, Aber-erch, Farmer : Will 1845.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Hugh Griffith otherwise Hugh Owen of Llwynrhydol Uchaf in the Parish of Abererch in the County of Carnarvon, Farmer, made and executed this fourteenth day of February in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty five.

All my real and personal property I dispose of as follows. I give devise and bequeath unto my three sisters Ellen, Mary and Catherine jointly and their Heirs. All that my Tenement, Messuage, Farm and Lands and all appurtenances thereunto belonging commonly called or known by the name of Ty'nylon situate lying and being in the Parish of Abererch in the County of Carnarvon aforesaid, subject nevertheless to the payment of the sum of Fifty Pounds as hereinafter directed. And also to the Proviso hereinafter contained. That is to say subject to the payments by my said sisters Ellen, Mary and Catherine, their heirs executors and administrators of the following sums of money to my nieces, the daughters of my sister Margaret by Owen Roberts of Llwynrhydol Fawr her husband and to my sister Elizabeth, their executors and administrators.

Namely the payment of ten pounds to my said Niece Ellen.

The payment of ten pounds to my said Niece Mary.

The payment of ten pounds to my said Niece Catherine.

And the payment of twenty pounds to my said sister Elizabeth, their Executors and Administrators.

Provided always. If any one of my said sisters, Ellen, Mary and Catherine, to whom I have already hereby conveyed my said real property, die without issue her surviving, it is my will and intention that the share of her so dying should go to the survivor or survivors of them and their heirs. And if all of my sisters, Ellen, Mary and Catherine die leaving no issue there surviving, then in that case it is my will and intention, that the whole of my said estate should go to the next of kin. And finally – All my personal property. Goods, Chattels, Household furniture, Live and dead stock, Monies, Credits, Implements and Effects whatsoever of which I shall be possessed at the time of my decease,

I hereby further give and Bequeath to my said sisters Ellen, Mary and Catherine jointly, their Executors and Administrators, subject to the payment of the aforesaid Legacies, as hereinbefore appointed, and also subject to the following proviso viz. That my sister Mary should have the feathered bed upon which I lie for her sole use and service. And I nominate and appoint my said sisters Ellen, Mary and Catherine the sole and joint Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament and revoking every other Will or Wills by me heretofore made, I declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of February in the year of Our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and forty five.(1845)

On the 18th day of September in the year of our Lord 1845 the above Will was initiated, proved, approved in common form of Law decreed valid, and Administration granted to the above named Executrixes, they being first sworn in common form of law, and that the whole of the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £100.
before me St Geo Armstrong Williams Surrogate.

The deceased died on 14th April 1845.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the goods chattels and effects of the late Hugh Griffith of Llwynrhydol in the Parish of Abererch in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, Farmer, Deceased, made and appraised by us the undersigned (Gratis) as witness our hands this 30th day of April 1845.
