Catherine Roberts Brynllaeth, Abererch : Will 1804

In the Name of God. Amen.

I Catherine Roberts of Brynllaith in the Parish of Abererch in the County of Caernarvon and Diocese of Bangor, Widow, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, considering the mortality of my Body, and the immortality of my soul, and hoping to be saved through the merits and mediation of my dear saviour Jesus Christ, Do Publish and declare this written Instrument as and for my last Will and Testament, which I make and ordain in the Form and manner following. That is to say Imprimis.

I give and bequeath to Richard and David Roberts the sons of Robert Prichard of Gefel y Penmaen in the Parish of Llannor, Smith, the several sums of Twenty shillings each making in all two pounds.

Item. I give and bequeath to Mary Roberts the Daughter of the said Robert Prichard the sum of Forty shillings.

Item. I give and bequeath to Jane Roberts the Daughter of the said Robert Prichard the sum of Forty Shillings.

Item. I give and bequeath the sum of forty shillings between the two children of Eleanor Roberts Daughter of the above named Robert Prichard.

Item. I give and bequeath to Margaret Jones the wife of Maurice Jones of Glan y Gors in the Parish of Bodvean the sum of seven pounds.

Item. I give and bequeath to my dear sister Anne Roberts of Cappel y Nant in the Parish of Llangian the sum of Twenty pounds to be paid to her within the space of a Month after my decease.

Item. I give and bequeath to Robert Ismael of Rhyd Galed in the Parish of Llangian, Smith the sum of forty shillings.

Item. I give and bequeath to Catherine Ismael residing in the Town of Pwllheli, the wife of Hugh Jones, the sum of seven pounds.

Item. I give and bequeath to my Niece Anne Roberts Daughter of my Brother Edward (she now residing at Carmarthenshire) the sum of Ten pounds.

Item. I give and bequeath to Robert Williams of Merbwll in the Parish of Llanaelhaiarn the sum of forty shillings.

Item. I give and bequeath to Catherine Williams my relation and late my servant maid the sum of one and twenty shillings.

Item. I give and bequeath to Catherine Williams late of Mynydd Ednyfed fawr near Cricciaeth the sum of forty shillings.

Item. I give and bequeath to my old servant Owen Humphrey the sum of forty shillings.

Item. I give and bequeath to Mary William of Ty pobty in the Parish of Abererch the sum of one and twenty shillings.

Item. I give and bequeath to John Roberts the son of my deceased brother Edward Roberts the sum of Fifty Pounds.

Item. I give and bequeath to Jane Roberts the Daughter of my said brother Edward Roberts the sum of Twenty pounds.

As to the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate, goods, chattels and credits I give and bequeath the same all and singular thereof after the just payment of the above Legacies defraying my funeral expenses to my Nephews Robert Prichard and Richard Roberts, the sons of my deceased brother Richard Roberts, whom I nominate constitute and appoint co-executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all Will or Wills by me at any time hereafter made declaring this and this only to be my last Will and Testament.

In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Ninth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and two. Signed sealed published and declared by the Testatrix Catherine Roberts as and for her last Will and Testament in our presence who in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto.

On the 14th day of May in the year of our Lord 1803. The above will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and administration granted to the above named Executors Robert Prichard and Richard Roberts they being first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £100 before me.
