John Hughes, Penrhyn, Aber-erch, : Will 1778.
In the name of God Amen.I John Hughes of Penrhyn in the Parish of Abereirch County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor being in perfect memory and mindful of my mortality praised be God do on the 25 day of December in the year of our Lord 1768 make publish and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
First I give and bequeath to my daughter in law Mary Griffith daughter of my first wife Ellin Williams the sum of one shilling.
I give and bequeath to my son Hugh Jones the sum of ten pounds od Lawful British Money.
As for all and singular the rest residue and remainder of my worldly Goods, Cattle, Chattels, Rights and Credits of what kind nature or quantity soever the same shall happen to be at the time of my decease I give and bequeath the same to my unto my wedded wife Jonnet Richards and do hereby consitute nominate and appoint her my said wife Jonnet Richards Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament for and making void all former Wills and Testaments by me made and this only to be taken stand and deemed.
In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the day and year above written. Signed sealed published and declared in the presence of the under named witnesses

On the 12th day of February in the year of our Lord 1778 the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the within appointed Executrix, she being first personally sworn on the holy Evangelists as the law directs
