David John Thomas, Bryngolau, Abererch, Yeoman : Will 1763

In the name of God Amen. I David John Thomas of Bryngolau in the County of Carnarvon, Yeoman, being sick and weak in body, but of good, sound, sane and perfect mind, memory and understanding praised be God, Do on this Eighteenth Day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty three, make, ordain, publish and deliver my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following (That is to say)

First I give and bequeath unto my son John David one cow or the sum of forty shillings to buy him a cow at May next if he shall choose it.

Also I give and bequeath unto my son Richard David the sum of two shillings and six ponies.

Also I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary one full third part of all and singular any Goods, Chattels and personal Estate of what Nature, Degree, Kind or Quality the same shall happen to be or Consist of at the time of my Decease. All my Just Debts and Legacies above mentioned and funeral expenses being first paid discharged and deducted.

All the rest residue and remainder of my Goods, Chattels and personal Estate aforesaid after Payment of my said Debts, Legacies and funeral Expenses as aforesaid. I give and bequeath the same unto my children, Robert David, William David, Owen David and Ellin David to be divided between them share and share alike.

Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said son Robert David sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said Testator David John Thomas have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. Signed sealed published and declared by aforesaid David John Thomas the Testator above named in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto. On the 27th Day of January 1763 the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and administration granted to the Executor within named, he being first personally sworn on the Holy Evangelist as the Law directs before me. J Jones Surrogate.

A true and perfect Inventory of the Goods, Chattels and personal Estate of David John Thomas late of Bryngolau in the County of Carnarvon, Yeoman – Deceased made this twenty fifth of January in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Three – by
Robert Morris of Gromlech in the said County, Yeoman and
Elias Morris of Llwyndyrus in the said County, Yeoman.
Appraisors Indifferently chosen by the Executor and Legatees of the said David John Thomas deceased.
