John Williams, Bwlch y Ffordd, Abererch, Yeoman : Will 1762.

In the name of God Amen.

I John Williams of Bwlch y Ffordd in the Parish of Abererch in the County of Carnarvon, Yeoman, being sick and weak in body but of good sound and perfect mind and memory (Praised be God) do this Twenty Second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty two, make ordain publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following.

That is to say, First I give and bequeath unto my cousin Robert Powel late of Cannon Street London (son of Howel Roberts late of the parish of Llanfihangel Bachellaeth in the said County of Carnarvon …........... the Executors, Administrators or Assignes the sum of Two hundred and thirty one pounds of good and Lawful Money of Great Britain. In trust and to be paid and divided to and between my sons William Williams, Robert Williams and Thomas Williams in manner hereinafter mentioned concerning the payment and disposition thereof, that is to say, upon Trust and to the Intent and purpose That the said Robert Powel his Executors Administrators or Assignes or some or one of thou shall and will within the space of Eighteen Calendar Months next after my decease layout at Interest upon good Security the said sum of Two hundred and thirty one pounds herein before given and bequeathed in Trust as aforesaid. And shall and will yearly and every year pay the growing Interest thereof as the same shall become due unto my Executrix herein after named or to her Assignes for and towards keeping supporting and maintaining in and providing for my said sons William Williams, Robert Williams and Thomas Williams and each and every of them respectively Good and sufficient meat drink washing lodging wearing apparel and all other necessities until they and every one of them respectively shall attain the age of fifteen years; and from and after my said sons William Williams, Robert Williams and Thomas Williams respectively attaining the age of fifteen years as aforesaid He the said Robert Powel his Executors Administrators or Assignes or some or one of them shall and will pay the sum of seventy seven pounds part of the said sum of Two hundred and thirty one pounds herein before given and bequeathed in Trust as aforesaid unto such of them my said sons as shall arrive at the age of fifteen years as he and each and every one of them shall respectively attain the age of fifteen years as aforesaid. And my Will is and I do hereby declare the sum so to be That if Either or any of my said sons shall happen to die before he or they shall arrive at the age of fifteen years as aforesaid or before he or they being of competent age shall by Will or Deed otherwise dispose of the same That then and in such case such share part or Proportion of the said sum of Two Hundred and thirty one pounds herein before mentioned where unto he or they so happening to die as aforesaid should respectively have been Intitled if he or they attained the age of fifteen years shall go to the survivors and survivor of my said children be paid unto him or them as he or they shall respectively attain the age of fifteen years aforesaid.

Also I give and bequeath unto my son William Williams over and above his share part or proportion of the said sum of Two Hundred and thirty one pounds herein before mentioned to be given and bequeathed in Trust for my said children as aforesaid my best Oak Bedstead, Feather Bed and Bolster, three blankets and bed covering and all other things belonging thereunto.

Also I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Williams over and above his share part or proportion of the said sum of Two Hundred and thirty one pounds herein before mentioned to be given and bequeathed in Trust for my said children as aforesaid my best Waistcoat Chest.

Also I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Williams over and above his share part or proportion of the said sum of Two Hundred and thirty one pounds herein before mentioned to be given and bequeathed in Trust for my said children as aforesaid my press cupboard.

And lastly all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels and personal Estate of what nature kind or quality soever they shall happen to be at the time of my decease I give and bequeath the same unto my Dearly beloved wife Jane Williams, (she keeping and maintaining my said children for the Interest of the said sum of Two hundred and thirty one pounds until they respectively attain the age of fifteen years respectively as aforesaid) and do hereby Nominate Constitute and Appoint her my said beloved wife Jane Williams Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made and publishing and declaring this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said Testator John Williams have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Testator John Williams for and as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto.

On the seventh day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty two, the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and decreed valid in common form of Law and Administration of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased granted to the Executrix within named, she being first personally sworn as the Law directs / everyone's right being saved and reserved.

A true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Cattle personal Estate Rights and Credits of John Williams of Bwlch y Ffordd in the Parish of Abererch in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, Yeoman lately deceased taken and appraised by the persons undernamed the thirtieth day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty two as followeth viz.
