Hugh Roberts, Ystohelyg Bach, Aberdaron, Farmer : Will 1855.

I Hugh Roberts of Ystohelyg bach in the Parish of Aberdaron, Farmer, do this thirteenth day of August 1852, make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following.

I give and bequeath to my dear wife Elin the one moeity of the stock on this Farm and all I may be possessed of at the time of my death to be enjoyed by her during the term of her natural life. After that event my will is that my Nephew John Evans should have all she may be in possession of at the time of her death, with the exception of my press cupboard, which I give to my Niece, Jane, daughter of my brother Evan.

I do hereby make constitiute and appoint my dear wife Elin Roberts, Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Hugh Roberts as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us.

Know all Men by those Presents That We John Evans of Ystohelyg bach in the Parish of Aberdaron in the County of Carnarvon, Farmer and John Jones of Tynrhyd in the said Parish of Aberdaron are held and finualy bound unto The Righr Reverend Father in God Christopher by Divine Pernission Lord Bishop of Bangor in the sum of Two Hundred Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain, to be paid unto the said Right Reverend Father or his true and lawful Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns; To which payment well and truly to be made We oblige ourselves and each of us jointly and severally for and in the whole our and each of out Heirs, Executors and Administrators and every of them firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals and Dated the Thirtieth day of January in the eighteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty five.

The Condition of this Obligation is such That if the above bounden John Evans the lawful Nephew and the Person now entitled to the Residue of the Estate and Effects of Hugh Roberts late of Ystohelyg bach aforesaid in the Diocese of Bangor, Farmer deceased under and by virtue of the last Will and Testament of the said Deceased, and to be admitted Administrator of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased with his said Will annexed. Do well and truly execute and perform the said Will and administer the Goods Chattel and Credits of the said Deceased according to Law (Ellin Roberts the Executrix named in the said Will having lately without having taken upon her the Probate and Execution thereof.)

And do pay his Debts and Legacies in the said Will bequeathed so far as his Goods Chattel and Credits will extend and the Law bind him. If also he does exhibit into the Consistory Court of Bangor as true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Chattel and Credits of the said Deceased and do make a true and just Account of the same where she shall be thereunto lawfully called. And moreover, if need require, enter into further Bond with more sufficient Surities for the performance of the Premises as the Judge of the said Court for the time being shall think requisite and needful.

And lastly do save defend and ? keep the above named Right Reverend Father, Judge and all other Officers of the said Courts against all persons by reason of the Premises. Then this present Obligation to be void and of none effect or else to remain in full force and virtue.

On the thirtieth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty five Personally appeared the within bounden John Evans and alleged that Hugh Roberts late of Ystohelyg bach in the Parish of Aberdaron in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, Farmer departed this life on the twelfth day of April one thousand eight hundred and fifty four having first duly made and executed his last Will and Testament in writing (now hereto annexed) and thereof appointed his Wife Ellin Roberts sole Executrix. That the said Ellin Roberts also departed this life on the twenty fourth day of December One thousand eight hundred and fifty four without having taken upon her the Probate and Execution of the said Will and that he this appeared is the lawful Nephew of the said Deceased Testator and now entitled to the Residue of his Estate and Effects under the said Will. Wherefore he pray that  Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased Testator with his said Will annexed be granted to him on giving the usual securities.

Let Administration with the said Will annexed pass as prayed to the said John Evans, he being first personally sworn on the Holy Evangelists as the Law directs and that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of One hundred pounds.
