Thomas Griffith, Pen y maes, Aberdaron : Will 1820.
In the Name of God Amen.I Thomas Griffith of Penymaes in the Parish of Aberdaron in the County of Carnarvon being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding do publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz.
First I give and bequeath to my sister Anne the sum of five pounds sterling.
Then I give and bequeath to Catherine Jones the daughter of my Niece Catherine Thomas the sum of five pounds sterling.
Then I give and bequeath to my Niece Jane Thomas of Penrhyn Aberdaron the sum of one shilling.
Then I give and bequeath to John Prichard Bodisa (in trust) to pay for the building of the Chapel of Pen y Cwm in the Parish of Aberdaron the sum of five pounds sterling.
Then I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Owen daughter of Owen Humphrey Pen y maes the sum of six pounds sterling.
Then I give and bequeath to Elinor Owen daughter of Owen Humphrey Pen y maes the sum of six pounds sterling.
Then I give and bequeath to my Nephew Robert Evan son of my sister Anne the sum of one shilling.
Then I give and bequeath to my Niece Catherine Evans daughter of my sister Anne the sum of two pounds sterling.
Then I give and bequeath to my Niece Elizabeth Evan daughter of my sister Anne the sum of two pounds sterling.
Then I give and bequeath to my Niece Jane Evans daughter of my sister Anne the sum of two pounds sterling.
Then I give devise and bequeath all that messuage tenement and lands commonly called and known by the name of Pen y maes in the Parish of Aberdaron with its rights and appurtanences to my Niece Catherine Owen wife of Griffith Jones shopkeeper of Pen y caera and to her heirs of her issue for ever.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint the above named Catherine Owen to be Sole Executrix and residuary legatee of this my last Will and Testament. And I do hereby annul and revoke all former Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made and I do declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen.
Further I order the above named Catherine Owen Executrix of this my Will and Testament to wear her brother Thomas Rogers with sufficient worth of two pounds of apparel or clothes every year during his lifetime.
Signed sealed and declared by the said Testator for as his last Will and Testament in our presence who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other do subscribe our names as witnesses the day above written.

On the fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord 1820 the above written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the above named Executrix Catherine Owen, she being first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do nor amount in value to £100.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the Goods Chattels and Credits of Thomas Griffith late of Penymaes in the Parish of Aberdaron in the County of Carnarvon deceased made and appraised by us Gratis this eleventh day of November 1820.
