Hugh Griffith, Penybryn brynla, Aberdaron, Farmer : Will 1819.

In the name of God Amen.

I Hugh Griffith of Penybryn brynla in the Parish of Aberdaron in the County of Carnarvon, Farmer being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following viz.

First I do give and bequeath unto my daughter Lowry now wife of John Morris the sum of two shillings.

Item. I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Anne all that piece or parcel of land called Cae hen situate in the Parish of Aberdaron for and during her natural life provided that my daughter Elizabeth Hughes or husband shall and will have the holding of the said parcel of land at the yearly rent of Four Guineas to be paid yearly and every year to my said daughter Anne and from and after her decease my Will is that the said parcel of land shall go or devolve to the grandson of my said daughter Anne named John Jones or to the eldest brother that shall or may be living at the time of the decease of my said daughter Anne for ever.

I do give and devise unto the Church Wardens or overseers of the poor of the Parish of Aberdaron or successors all that messuage tenement and lands called Pwllmelun situate in the said Parish of Aberdaron In trust towards the use clothing maintenance of my daughter Jane Hughes (who is void of common intellect) for and during her natural life and from and after the decease of my said daughter Jane my will is that the said tenement shall go and devolve to my daughter Elizabeth if then living and from and after the decease of my daughter Jane and Elizabeth I give devise and bequeath the said tenement and lands called Pwllmelun aforesaid to my Grandsons Hugh and David Roberts share and share alike or to the survivor or longest living of them.

Item. I do give and bequeath to my said daughter Jane during her natural life the Legal Interest of thirty pounds sterling to be paid by my Executors hereinafter named towards her support and maintenance where she may think proper or by consent of the above named Trustees, and from and after the decease of my said daughter Jane I do give and bequeath the principal sum of thirty pounds to my grandaughter Ellin Owen.

I do give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Hughes now wife of Owen Evans all that messuage tenement and lands called and known by the name of Penybryn brymla for and during her natural life and from and after her decease to her husband Owen Evans until his youngest son by my said daughter arises to the age twelve years and after the expiration of my said daughter and the expiration of the above mentioned twelve years, I do give and devise the above named Penybryn brymla unto my grand children Griffith and Jane Roberts or to the survivor of them and their heirs for ever, and my Will further is that my daughter Jane Hughes shall and may have sufficient bed and bed clothes.

I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Anne Owen a bed and clothes I now lye in.

Lastly I constitute nominate and appoint my said daughter Elizabeth wife of Owen Evans Sole Executrix and residuary legatee of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other former Will or Wills by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I do hereby set my hand and seal the thirty first day of January in the year of our Lord 1818.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator for and as his last Will and Testament in our presence and in the presence of each other and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses on the day and year above written.

On the third day of February in the year of our Lord 1819, the above written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the above named Executrix Elizabeth Hughes, she being first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £200. before me
