Margaret Thomas, Carreg, Aberdaron, Widow : Will 1800.

In the name of God.

I Margaret Thomas of Carreg in the Parish of Aberdaron in the County of Carnarvon, Widow, Executrix of my late husband Griffith Thomas do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say. Imprimis.

I give and bequeath unto my grandaughter Margaret Jones, daughter of my daughter Catharine the sum of Twenty pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain.

I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds of good and lawful money to my son Edward.

I give and bequeath to and between my children Edward aforesaid, Jane, Elizabeth, Margaret, Mary and Lowry, all the rest residue and remainder of all my effects, goods, chattels and cattle notes deeds ready monies and every security for money whatsoever to be equally divided amongst them share and share alike.

And the more effectually to carry into due execution the last Will and Testament of my said husband and of another instrument executed between me and my husband aforesaid for the purpose of carrying into effect this my last Will and Testament I do nominate constitute and appoint Griffith Jones the Vicar of Aberdaron and Ellis Thomas of Trefgraig and Guardian of all my youngest children and Executors.

In trust of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 15th day of May 1799.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testatrix as her last Will and Testament, in our presence who at her request and in her presence have subscribed our names as witnesses.

I the within named Testatrix Margaret Thomas do ordain and direct that this codicil be taken and accepted observed and acted upon as my last Will and a final direction to be observed and followed by my within mentioned Executors Griffith Jones Clerk and Ellis Thomas Yeoman that is to say.

I will and direct that upon the marriage or intermarrying of any of my said children that such child by marrying shall with all convenient speed be paid that portion and whatever else they may be equitably entitled to and from that day of the celebration of such marriage that they be deprived of any interest benefit or profit arising out of the common stock which they might otherwise have been entitled to under this my last Will and Testament and this rule ? and regulation shall be unvariably observed and kept in all cases where any of my aforesaid children shall call in their individual dower or portion for their private use and establishment.

In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name dated April 1st 1800.

On the 31st day of July in the year of our Lord 1800 the above or within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to the within named Executor Griffith Jones, one of the Executors named in the said Will, he being first personally sworn of the holy Evangelists as the law directs, having alledged that the personal estate of the Testatrix Margaret Thomas doth not amount in value to the sum of three hundred pounds (with power reserved for Ellis Thomas the other Executor in the said Will to apply for the same when he shall by Law be fully entitled thereof)
