Harry Prichard, Bodrydd, Aberdaron : Will 1778.

In the name of God Amen.

I Harry Prichard of Bodrydd in the Parish of Aberdaron in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory (Thanks be given to God) do on the thirtieth day of march in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight, make my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following.

First of all I commit my soul to God and my body to ye earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named.

And as touching and concerning my worldly goods and personal estate, I dispose of the same as followeth. First I give and bequeath to my daughter Lowry Parry the sum of thirty eight pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Parry the sum of thirty eight pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Parry the sum of fourteen pounds in cash and rent of Bryn Eithin for four years next after my decease to make up in all the sum of thirty pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my son Richard Parry the house and lands of Ty Newydd and Bryn Eithin and Llain Brynmeina and the Chapel, after pay to his sister Ann the sum of four pounds yearly for the first four years next after my decease.

Also I give and bequeath unto each of my three children (viz) Humphrey, Jane and Elin Parry the sum of sum of thirty eight pounds.

As for the rest of my personal estate in what particulars soever the same shall consist I do give and bequeath the same to my daughter Rachel Parry together with the messuages tenements and land of Bodrydd and Cae fadog ucha with all its appurtenances for the space and during the term of fourteen years next after the date above written, and my said daughter Rachel Parry must pay each of my said three children (viz) Humphrey, Jane and Elin the sum of thirty eight pounds when each of them arrives the age of eighteen years and keep and maintain them with meat and drink, lodging and apparel fitting for their degree until each of them arrives the age of eighteen years.

If please God to keep their Life and my said daughter Rachel Parry whom I likewise constitute nominate and appoint my sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made and in witness that this is my last Will and Testament. I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Harry Prichard as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us.

On the 27th day of May in the year of our Lord 1778 the within written Will was insinuated proved approved and in common form of Law decreed valid and Administration granted to Rachel Parry, the within written appointed Executrix and to her husband Richard Griffith in Right of the said Rachel Parry his wife, they being first personally sworn on the holy Evangelists as the law directs
by me J Jones Surrogate.

A true and perfect Inventory made upon all the Goods Cattle and Chattels of Harry Prichard of Bodrydd in the parish of Aberdaron, in the County of Carnarvon and Diocese of Bangor, lately deceased valued and prized by the persons under named April ye 16th 1778.
